A few things to have ready.

  • Exact tyre size, load index, speed rating and tyre quantity.
  • Vehicle registration and any run-flat or special specification requirements.
  • A suitable parking space, access permission and locking wheel nut key.

Start with the exact tyre specification

A registration number is a useful starting point, but the tyre specification still needs checking. Record the size printed on the existing tyre, such as 205/55 R16, together with its load index and speed rating. Check the vehicle manufacturer’s requirements too. Front and rear sizes can differ, and a previous owner may have changed the wheels.

Tell the operator about run-flat tyres, extra-load markings, tyre-pressure monitoring and any particular manufacturer specification. The Essential, Touring and Performance options are guide price categories rather than a live catalogue. The Tyre Rescue team must identify the tyre brand, model, specification and availability in the final quote before you agree to it.

What to confirm before your visit

The team first confirms your vehicle, tyres and location. At the agreed visit, the fitter assesses the wheels and working area before fitting the agreed replacements, balancing the wheels and completing the relevant checks using the vehicle and equipment manufacturers’ instructions. Confirm disposal arrangements and any additional work in the final quote.

Choose a firm, level location with enough space around the vehicle and room for the service van. At work or in shared parking, arrange permission first. Provide access instructions and make the locking wheel nut key available. This online form is for fitting requests at suitable locations. Call Tyre Rescue for urgent assistance and follow official breakdown guidance if you are in danger.

Fitting requests across the central belt

The online request area covers EH, G, FK, KY and ML postcodes, plus PA1–PA19. This includes Edinburgh and the Lothians, Greater Glasgow, Stirling and Falkirk, Fife, Lanarkshire and parts of Renfrewshire. A postcode match is an initial check; the Tyre Rescue team still needs to confirm the exact address, tyre stock and appointment capacity. For other areas, call the team to discuss your location.
